Dermot Grace

Redvision appoints security industry leader, Dermot Grace, as MD.

Redvision is pleased to announce the appointment of Dermot Grace as its new managing director.

Dermot will continue to grow sales in both domestic and international security markets for the successful UK CCTV manufacturer.

Dermot brings with him a wealth of security industry experience. As sales director for Norbain, Dermot played a pivotal role in growing the company to become the major player it now is. He followed that with similar success at Tyco. He is well-known and well-respected in the UK and international security industries and brings with him exceptional market knowledge and influence.

Dermot commented, “Redvision is a company I have admired for some time. The X-SERIES™, rugged PTZ dome cameras are widely accepted as the UK market leaders for outdoor and challenging environments. They are the first choice for public space and local authority applications. The company’s relatively new IP products have a proven reputation for reliability and excellence, integrating with most leading VMS and control systems. The time is right to build on this reputation, growing sales in wider UK markets and international territories.”

Paul Hucker, founder of Redvision, added, “We are delighted that Dermot has joined the team at Redvision. He is the ideal person to lead the company through its next period of growth. His appointment allows me to focus my attention on new and continuous product development, ensuring our products remain innovative, reliable, relevant and high quality, now and in the future.”

Redvision X-SERIES™ cameras with U-Track technology at IFSEC 2016.

Redvision technology partner, MAXXESS, will be showing-casing the latest developments in the X-SERIES™ RV30 rugged PTZ dome cameras on stand E700, at IFSEC 2016. This will include U-Track auto-PTZ tracking.

MAXXESS eFusion™ combines video, access control, fire and intruder detection functionality into a single, unified management platform, but at a far lower cost than traditional PSIM solutions. X-SERIES™ cameras integrate with eFusion™, including those using Redvision’s new U-Track, auto-PTZ tracking technology.

“The Redvision X-SERIES™ cameras and MAXXESS security management systems are benchmark products in local government and public space security markets,” explained Dermot Grace, MD of Redvision. “We are pleased to partner MAXXESS at IFSEC, as we are both seeing substantial growth in the domestic and international markets represented at the exhibition.

“U-Track, auto-tracking PTZ cameras are designed for unmanned, wide-area and perimeter surveillance applications; a common requirement for both our companies. Up to five, fixed, analytics cameras provide total scene coverage. These automatically drive the PTZ camera, with its superior optical zoom capability, to the most significant site event to capture more detailed images. Events outside the PTZ field of view are picked up by the fixed cameras, so nothing is missed.”

X-SERIES™ rugged PTZ dome cameras integrate with Wavestore’s video surveillance and recording platform, controlled by eFusion™. Wavestore provides the video aspects of the system. Salto access control, Honeywell intruder detection and Notifier fire alarm systems complete the eFusion™ integrated solution.

Eneo’s KVM extenders allow multi-user access to NVRs and DVRs via Ethernet.

Eneo’s new KVM extenders allow users to have remote access to eneo NVRs and DVRs, as well as other compatible HDMI devices, across an Ethernet network.

The KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) transmitter, IAM-5EE1001MTA, connects to the NVR or DVR and the KVM receiver, IAM-5EE1001MRA, positioned remotely, provides keyboard, monitor and mouse connections. The monitor connection is through an HDMI 1.3b port. One USB 1.1 port and three USB 2.0 ports are provided for the mouse and keyboard.

“The eneo KVM extenders use an Ethernet network, so unlike traditional KVM solutions, they do not rely on point-to-point cabling,” explained Martin Morris, eneo Business Development Manager UK & Ireland. “This not only reduces installation overheads, as new or dedicated cabling is not required, but also allows installation flexibility. One or many users are able to view and control one or many recorders and, depending on the capability of the network and switches used, this can be up to 16 transmitters and 64 receivers at once. Ethernet transmission distances are up to 150m over CAT5e or 180m over CAT6.”

The extenders support Full HD and 1920x1200p video resolutions. They are set up via a purpose-designed, user interface using the monitor with a keyboard, mouse or IR remote controller or by an Android or iOS smartphone app. The extenders support HDMI and analogue, bi-directional audio, allowing operators to issue audible instructions to a site. RS232, Full Duplex data communications is also enabled.
