Aimetis launches the 25 channel, E7060A Physical Security Appliance NVR with analytics.

Aimetis Corp. is pleased to announce the addition of the 25 channel E7060A to its Physical Security Appliance (PSA) NVR line-up.

The E7060A PSA range combines purpose-built hardware with Aimetis Symphony™ video management and analytics software. It comes loaded with 24 of its 25 camera channel licenses. 22 camera channels have Standard video management software (VMS) licenses and 2 have Enterprise VE Series™ analytics licenses. A third Enterprise license is added when the PSA is registered.

Aimetis’ PSAs provide an embedded and seamless integration between VMS and video analytics. The PSAs give installers simple entry into the VA and VMS markets, with no compromise in functionality. The licenses on the PSAs are not tied to a particular camera. This allows unrestricted camera replacement and simple license upgrading. The PSA can also be integrated into much larger, multi-sited, centralized VMS solutions at any time and includes software viewing using Windows Client, Web, iPhone, iPad and Android.

The Aimetis PSAs support many manufacturers’ MP cameras and no software uploading or activation is required, helping to simplify installation. The PSAs have 6TB of internal storage using a WD Purple, surveillance-grade, hard disc drive and provide external support for eSATA, NAS, camera SD card and more. Fan-less cooling keeps running costs low with high reliability.

The Aimetis VE Series™, video analytics functions available include motion tracking, object classification, people counting, occupancy, auto-PTZ tracking, ANPR, facial detection, left/removed objects, virtual fence, wrong direction, motion detection and loitering/dwell time. The PSA allows this functionality to be allocated to selected cameras, with the flexibility to re-allocate to a different camera if system requirements change.

Redvision service centre L to R Jack Waterfall and Malcolm Proctor

Redvision at your service, with free repair and reconditioning estimates for all X-SERIES™ cameras.

Redvision’s service centre provides free estimates for repairing or reconditioning used X-SERIES™ PTZ dome cameras.

The estimating service applies to all Redvision X-SERIES™ cameras, irrespective of their age or supplier. Subsequent repairs or reconditioning to the current specification and return to the customer are usually completed within a week.

“The estimation service is free, to encourage installers to return faulty cameras to Redvision and not to an unqualified, third party repair centre,” explained Paul Hucker, Managing Director of Redvision. “It avoids unnecessary or irreversible damage to the cameras, which we sometimes see with repairs by untrained engineers. Warranty repairs are free and we provide the chargeable, out-of-warranty, repair estimates to installers within 48 hours. Even including a 24 hour soak test for all serviced camera modules, the X-SERIES™ is still back with the installer within the week in most cases. The majority of service repairs are for replacing worn parts; inevitable for a product which is often used continuously.”

Each X-SERIES™ is re-conditioned to the current Redvision build and software standards. All the parts used have a 3 year warranty and are Redvision-approved and manufactured. New seals are fitted with every service, to maintain the IP67 rating, and each camera is pressure tested to ensure seal integrity.

The service department is overseen by Malcolm Procter, who has over 20 years CCTV engineering experience and expertise and was actively involved in the development of the X-SERIES™. Every X-SERIES™ has thorough traceability, including build-version, assembly procedures and the operatives responsible for assembly. This ensures the highest quality assurance standards are met with a complete audit trail.”

New Grundig DVR edit

Grundig’s 960h DVRs work with Grundig NVRs for hybrid CCTV systems.

Grundig’s 960h, analogue DVR range delivers outstanding image quality with intuitive configuration and operation.

The 960h DVR range provides comprehensive functionality for CCTV applications of all sizes and complexity. The DVRs can also be used in the same system as Grundig IP-based NVRs, when co-ordinated and controlled by Grundig GCMS central monitoring software. This allows installers to use analogue and IP cameras together in a hybrid system. Installer benefits include enabling cost-effective, analogue cameras to be fitted in positions where Full HD resolution is not required and simple and easy upgrading from analogue to IP cameras.

GCMS software allows remote access to the Grundig DVRs for set up and configuration. The DVRs use a Linux operating system and share the same user interface as the NVRs. The Internet Explorer web browser allows live viewing, playback, search, backup and remote configuration and Grundig’s GR Viewer app is also enabled for convenient viewing by iPhone or Android smartphone.

The DVR range includes 8 (GRA-D2208A) and 16 (GRA-D4416A) channel models. Both support Pelco Coaxitron PTZ telemetry control and remote camera configuration over the coaxial connection.

The 960h analogue images have a resolution of 976 x 582 pixels, 36% larger than the industry-standard analogue resolution of D1. To take advantage of the increased detail 960h offers, all the cameras, DVRs and monitors in a system must be 960h. For maximum installation flexibility, Grundig has ensured its 960h DVRs are compatible with most other leading manufacturers’ 960h products.

Convenient factory settings include pre-configured recording modes and quick user and alarm management set-up. Tamper alarm alerts, four privacy zones per channel and pre and post alarms are included. Users benefit from “smart timeline” search functionality, including a “three click” export and back-up function, event thumbnail search and easy archiving.

The DVRs have slots for up to five SATA II HDDs and an eSATA slot for additional external storage. Connection options include three USB 2.0 ports; RS485 and RS232 ports for PTZ or keyboard connectivity; 9 or 17 x alarm inputs, including one for remote reset; 8 or 16 alarm outputs with relays; audio inputs per channel with 2 or 4 outputs; HDMI, S-Video and VGA ports for multi-view display with 2 or 4 spot monitor options; and two RJ485 network ports for remote access.

Luminite PIR detectors provide cost effective security solution.

Luminite PIR detectors were recently used to secure a large clothing warehouse facility in Bedford that had been prone to regular break-ins.

The insurers required an early warning system to be put in place that specifically detected potential break-ins through side walls.

The client looked at using vibration sensors but these would have to be placed every few metres horizontally and vertically meaning that several hundred would be needed. The client simply did not have the budget for this so Tensor designed a system based on Panasonic and X-vision cameras, EyeLynx’s SharpView system and Luminite’s Genesis PIR detectors.

Instead of hundreds of vibration detectors just half a dozen Genesis PIR detectors were used to secure the warehouse. The detectors alert the SharpView NVR which sends the Panasonic cameras to the preset covering the area of intrusion.

Graham Creek, Managing Director of Luminite commented “In this current financial climate, not all businesses have a large security budget. We are delighted that Genesis PIR detectors satisfied the strict specifications from the Insurers at a fraction of the price of several hundred vibration detectors. Our continued collaboration with EyeLynx’s SharpView security software is proving seamless and cost effective for the end user.”

Luminite offers a full security detection package encompassing PIR detectors (both hard wired and wireless), active infra-red beams and security cameras.
