The series A funding is to accelerate its silicon photonics innovation.

OpenLight has secured $34M of series A funding to accelerate its silicon photonics innovation. This will be achieved through widescale adoption and commercialization of its heterogenously integrated, silicon photonics technology for AI and data center markets.

OpenLight is the world’s first open foundry, and a global leader in custom, Photonic ASIC chip design and manufacturing. The investment round will support continued growth with the development of its cutting-edge, heterogenously integrated photonic solutions, including expanding its PDK library; developing its integrated reference PICs at 1.6Tb/s and 3.2Tb/s; and strengthening its leading edge, 400Gb/s modulator technology.

The series A funding round, co -led by Xora Innovation and Capricorn Ventures, was oversubscribed. Further investors included Mayfield, HPE, New Legacy Ventures, K2 Access, and Lam Research.
