Redvision’s radar controlled rugged dome uses Ogier Electronics technology.

Redvision has joined forces with Ogier Electronics to produce a radar controlled, X-SERIES™ rugged dome.

Ogier Electronics makes the Scan-360 plug and play radar unit, which is used to control Redvision’s IP-based and analogue rugged domes. The combination can operate as a standalone, automatic PTZ camera system or may be integrated with leading VMS solutions, via a built-in RS485 data port.

Paul Hucker, MD of Redvision, explains, “Intruders, such as people and vehicles, are detected automatically at distances of up to 200 metres, in all weather conditions, day or night. The intruder’s X and Y coordinates are mapped to our X-SERIES™ rugged dome’s pan, tilt and zoom functionality, enabling automatic, real-time tracking. Alternatively, the X-SERIES™ is pointed in the direction of the intruder, so the automatic PTZ tracking functionality of the VMS can take over.

“For our RedCop™ rapid deployment CCTV system, radar control gives us a standalone, operator-free, automatic, video tracking solution. It also only uses 10w of power, so it doesn’t place an undue burden on the Redcop’s batteries or generator.”

The Scan-360 system will learn its environment and can be programmed with up to 36 detection areas, allowing zones of ‘no interest’ to be ignored. It alerts the VMS to every intruder, tracking the first or largest one. It is low cost; compact at just 310 x 250mm; easy to install; simple to configure; and is calibrated against an object positioned at 150m away with a simple button click.

Ogier Electronics has over 20 years’ high frequency Microwave, radar design experience.

Grundig takes tough, new fisheye dome outdoors.

Grundig’s new, rugged, outdoor fisheye dome camera uses a die-cast, aluminum body and polycarbonate, optical lower dome to achieve IK10 vandal-resistance and IP66 environmental ratings.

It benefits from an exceptional night-time, IR illumination range of 7m using four, built-in, high power LEDs.

Separate audio input and output jack sockets not only allow verbal communication with a site but also enable an audio alarm triggered by noise. This and further alarm event triggers, such as motion, tamper, audio detection and network failure, all activate recording, either remotely or on the camera’s built-in micro SD memory card. A handy time-lapse option also enables single frame recording at between 1 and 60 minute intervals.

The outdoor fisheye dome (GCI-M1566F) uses a 6.0 MP (3072x2048 pixels), 1/1.8” Sony progressive scan CMOS sensor with Ambarella S2 digital signal processor. Fisheye, panoramic settings offer 360° and 180° field of views and options of either back-end or front-end de-warping. Front-end de-warping produces a 4MP stream with a 360° field of view, presented as an elliptical image, with an additional 2MP quad image where each image can be adjusted and zoomed individually. This is designed for using with VMS and NVR solutions, which do not have their own de-warp functionality. Back-end de-warping provides integrated VMS and NVR solutions, with a 6MP, 360° stream and up to 4 further streams.

The fisheye camera has true day / night functionality, with removable IR-cut filter (ICR), so is ideal for use in dark and poorly lit, outdoor areas. It is powered by 12vDC or PoE, using just 10 watts with its LEDs running. It can be set up by web browser, allowing up to 20 simultaneous clients. Further functionality includes up to 5 privacy zones, WDR and ATW. At just 42.7mm deep and 117mm in diameter it is both compact and inconspicuous in almost any application.

Security Buying Group adds Digifort to its VMS and analytics portfolio.

The Security Buying Group (SBG) has added the Digifort, open platform VMS and analytics solution to its integrated IP systems portfolio.

Digifort offers end users and installers a cost-effective, intuitive VMS and analytics solution with incredible functionality and scalability. It is available in four license types, Explorer (up to 16 cameras), Standard (up to 32 cameras), Professional (up to 64 cameras) and Enterprise (any number of cameras and sites).

Paul Scott, Technical Director of the Security Buying Group, explained, “SBG is well established in the VMS and analytics market. We have been looking to expand our open platform VMS range and only Digifort met all our requirements. Digiforts’s Explorer gives us a cost-effective, entry-level option that competes with NVR pricing but offers many benefits over “closed” NVR technology. This can scale all the way up to Enterprise solutions, with unlimited users and cameras. It is easy and intuitive to set up, from its IT infrastructure configuration through to site commissioning and analytics. There is no annual fee for maintenance. Users only buy enhancements if they need them, such as adding ANPR or version upgrades. The system is compatible with edge analytics from leading camera suppliers, supports edge recording and enables client workstations of up to eight monitors.

“Digifort has some interesting features like object speed. This can be used for traffic management, for example, triggering alarms when vehicles exceed designated speeds. We also have iLIDS compliance and a monitoring solution.”

Digifort offers a broad range of video analytic functions including ANPR, traffic management (speed filter), object tracking, loitering, virtual fence, missing object, abandoned object, face detection, vehicle counting and people counting. Analytics can be used to create research and reporting data.

All training courses are available on-line, keeping costs and time commitment down to a minimum.
