Security Buying Group has launched the TPV-SW-BDT dual video, night-vision camera from TBT. It combines advanced thermal imaging video with 960H, colour, analogue video, in a single unit. Designed for short and medium-range perimeter surveillance applications, the night-vision camera offers extensive detection and recognition distances. It will distinguish people and vehicles at up to 1620m and 3750m respectively, using its 35mm lens option and recognise them at 320m or 810m. The 19 and 7.5mm lens options give shorter, but wider detection and recognition zones. The camera successfully senses people and vehicles in rain, mist and fog.
The camera’s rugged, weatherproof case withstands the most challenging environments. It has an optional, 1000 hour saltwater-resistant coating, for extreme weather conditions, making it ideal for coastal locations such as ports, harbours and sea fronts. A 3G vibration resistance option ensures reliable operation in transportation and mobile applications.
The night-vision camera’s thermal imaging video stream is produced using TBT’s unique, micro bolometer thermal sensor. It has 320 x 240 pixels Clear Video Resolution, a Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference (NETD) of less than 50mk and a Pixel Pitch of 17µm. The 960H analogue video stream is produced using a Sony Super HAD CCD II image sensor with 700TVL resolution. TBT offers a high resolution thermal version, with 720 x 480 pixels resolution, also available through the Security Buying Group.
The mechanism is robust, reliable and designed for ease of installation and set-up. It has a hinged, external OSD key control panel with keypad, a concealed cable mounting bracket, with built-in junction box, allows 3-axis adjustability. The camera operates between -40°C and 80°C.
