Sivers IMA Holdings AB (“Sivers IMA”), Sweden, has announced it will acquire all available shares in Compound Semiconductor Technologies Global Ltd (“CST Global”), Scotland. The decision to proceed with the acquisition was made by a share-holders vote, held at the company EGM on Tuesday 2nd May 2017.

Sivers IMA is a renowned supplier and developer of advanced, microwave and millimeter wave technology for existing and next generation network applications in WiGig / 5G wireless communication and radar sensors. By acquiring CST Global, a volume-producer of III-V compound semiconductor lasers, it adds a foundry facility and direct, fibre optic, network product manufacturing capability to its portfolio. This includes production of the leading edge optical lasers used in high-growth, data centre, cloud and “fibre-to-the-subscriber” markets in China, Europe and America.

Neil Martin (pictured), CEO of CST Global, stated, “CST Global is pleased to join the Sivers IMA group. Both companies are seeing more than 45% growth, compared to the same period last year. We operate in complementary parts of the emerging, next generation, high subscriber network markets where we can now offer photonic, microwave and millimeter wave solutions.”
