CST Global appoints industry authority, Gary Palmer, as VP Operations.

CST Global, the UK’s leading, independent, III-V opto-electronic, semiconductor foundry has appointed Gary Palmer as VP Operations. Gary joins CST Global from Huawei-CIP and is a well-known and respected figure in the UK semiconductor industry.

Gary has held senior management and director roles during his 25 years at leading UK semiconductor companies, including Intense, IQE Europe, NEC Semiconductors, Samsung Semiconductors and Anadigics Inc. He has worked in Quality & Reliability Engineering, Product Engineering, Project Management and Operations disciplines covering CMOS, III-V RF and III-V photonics and Si, GaAs and InP devices. He also brings extensive experience of supply into demanding consumer, automotive, aerospace, defence and telecoms markets.

Gary explains, “As VP Operations, I have responsibility for all of CST Global’s foundry services, from epitaxial growth and fabrication, through to assembly and packaging. I enjoy the challenge of taking III-V opto-electronic, semiconductor products from research and development into volume production, using lean manufacturing practice in a ISO 9001:2015 environment.”

Gary has a BEng(Hons) in Microelectronics from Glasgow Caledonian University. When he is not at work he enjoys time with family, fine dining and theatre and is a keen motor sports, motor cycling and classic car enthusiast.
